Email Me Those Books, Godot!

There is nothing quite like the agonising feeling of waiting for a book to come in at the library, or waiting for someone to email you back, and no matter how long you wait, or how many times you check your email, that book and that response just aren't there............

I'm dealing with both of these right now....I have not one, not two, but THREE books on request from other libraries, and according to my account, have been IN TRANSIT for the past three days.  I'm dying to read them before I have to return everything to the library again for graduation.......

And of course, I'm waiting on email responses from several people regarding an event I was hoping to set up.  It's not like they NEED to get back to me right away, but I would really like a response regardless, and I'm terribly impatient.

Waiting for three books and about a dozen email responses is slowly eating away at what is left of my soul...............................

At this point, I feel as though I'm just waiting for Godot.

A Bit Stressed.....

I just got back to campus after Easter Break, and already, I'm being pummelled with work!  And graduation is looming like the hound of the Baskervilles....I'm just a bit stressed out right now.  Ah well....at least I finished my homework for tomorrow, which leaves time for a beer and then bed.

Goodnight, all.

Blargh

I can't wait for this week to be over.  Or, more specifically, I can't wait until my Wednesday 5-6:15 class is over, and I don't have to stress about this presentation about Irish author Benedict Kiely anymore.  Going along with that, when class is over, my professor has offered to take us all out to dinner at a local Irish pub, and one of the grad students is buying us all beer.  I can't wait to sit back with a deliciously dark Guinness!

I try--as a rule--to avoid drinking when I'm stressed out, but I would kill for a nice glass of wine or shot of vodka right now....just something to help me relax.  And I don't even know why I'm so stressed out!

Maybe it's because I just got back from Thanksgiving break, and I already have a ton of work?  Like 3+ papers, a one-act play, and two short story revisions?  Or maybe it's because I had finally decided I was going to take a year off before grad school, and now, on the suggestion of one of my writing buddies, I'm off on a mad scramble to fill out applications for a MA in Creative Writing program?  Or, if that's not what's bothering me, perhaps it's the fact that I'm majorly crushing (against my will!) on a creep who keeps trying to seduce me, even though he has a girlfriend?  I tell him that I just want to be friends, but he keeps coming on to me.  And it's seriously starting to piss me off.  Maybe I'm stressed because I graduate in just over a semester?  Or because I still don't quite know what I want to do with my life?  Do I want to be a writer or a librarian?  What the hell am I doing?

Why do I always attract creeps?  I don't even want a boyfriend....I really don't want to be in a relationship right now, but I certainly wouldn't mind a few pleasant dates with someone who's not a player, a creep, or a weasel (this current guy happens to be all three).

I think I'm going to curl up in bed with To Kill a Mockingbird, and read until I fall asleep.....that is, once I finish all this homework, first.

That was a LOT of rambling and stressing out.  So, here's a cute picture of a hedgehog to make y'all feel better :)

Almost Done!

Spring break is nearly here, and I can't wait!  Just a few more hours and I am OUT OF HERE!  I just finished my political science midterm, and although I was able to finish early (I was the third person out that door), I'm a bit concerned about it.  Of the five essays we were supposed to prepare, my professor chose the two I was least prepared for.  Hopefully I did alright, though.

I have an English midterm later today, but I'm not as concerned about it.  I mean, I'm concerned, but I read Sparknotes, and I feel like that's the best that I can do.  My problem is that I didn't have time to read during the semester, and so I had an 800 page novel sitting on my desk and a week to read it.  It only stands to reason that this would never work.  So, instead of reading the book, I used study guides...

Finals Week

It's nearly three in the morning.  I've gone past the slap-happy stage to the dead-exhaustion stage.  I need sleep.  I'm going to fail my Earth Science final tomorrow....or is it technically TODAY?

I don't care.  I'm going to bed.
