Moleskine

I'm a writer and an artist, so I'm constantly littering notebooks, sticky notes, scraps of paper, and just about whatever else I can find, with notes, bits from stories, quotes, and doodles. I've been carrying around an old library receipt with random quotes written all over it, and just the other day, I took over about half a page of my planner with notes concerning a design layout I had for Cinema Sweetheart! I've been on the lookout for a good notebook for a while now, especially now that summer is coming and I want to have someone to keep all my ramblings and thoughts together.

And....I've chosen a Moleskine. Well, that is, I would LIKE to choose a Moleskine, but...well, they are pretty expensive, and for those of you who do not know, I'm pretty broke. Even so, I've been planning it out: what model I want (the Plain Notebook-- either Large or Pocket--because the I can scribble all over without lines to impede me). As for pens, I'm just going to go for something simple that doesn't bleed through the pages...although, once I have real money, I'd love to get a fountain pen....or better yet: a quill pen! (Yes, I'm a huge nerd :P)

So, wish me luck in finding the funds to get myself one of these little darlings ^_^

  1. I find the more expensive the pad, the less I write in it. I have acres of legal pads and notepads, three-by-fives and backs of receipts with all of my jottings... the real deal gets typed out... on an Underwood.

  2. Next time you see a dead bird on the side of the highway, take advantage of the opportunity of a homemade quill pen. :P

I found this hilarious and a propos...also, I'm generally not in support of things that are overpriced mostly for the sake of brand name. I suppose that would be the reason why I find Apple products just a teeny bit annoying (or rather, their obsessive fans).

  4. I bought a Moleskine notebook years ago before they were trendy. Similar to you I was just looking for a cool notebook and I liked its simple elegance and soft leather.
I was kind of bummed when I saw them popping up in the hands of people all over the place. Oh well, it's still a great notebook.
You should post your Paypal address so people can donate to your Moleskine fund. ;)

  5. Robby,

I actually don't have a PayPal address, although I like the idea you're proposing. :P How does one go about aquiring a PayPal?

  6. Go to www.paypal.com and sign up for free. You have to provide account information so that they can transfer money to you and visa-versa. It's pretty easy, they have step by step instructions. If you get it setup I will contribute. :)
