Happy Easter!

Jesus Christ has risen from the dead today! This marks the cornerstone of our Catholic faith--if Christ had not died and risen from the dead, there would be no Christianity!

Happy Easter, everyone!

(And on a slightly unrelated note, guess who just got a Moleskine?) :):):)

FML

I just finished burning over 2,000 pictures onto a disk (still with nearly half of the disk free for more files). I left my computer alone for about an hour, and when I came back, ALL THE FILES WERE GONE. My computer had to have deleted them, since they were on a locked laptop. My brother is the only one (besides me) who knows my password, and he was with me, so I know he didn't do anything. I don't know what the hell happened, but I want my 2,000+ files back! :'(

Summer Hat

Only a few more weeks before school lets out for the summer! I really can't believe it! And although I'm really starting to look forward to this warmer weather, I find myself in a bit of a fix....my grey fedora is just not going to cut it in this summer heat. Wearing a hat is great in the cold, but a wool fedora is an awful idea for the hot summer months. So, I'm trying to find a few options for a new hat (since I've fallen in love with them). Does anyone have any ideas? I'd most prefer a fedora, but I would not be adverse to other hats....perhaps a derby? :P

Moleskine

I'm a writer and an artist, so I'm constantly littering notebooks, sticky notes, scraps of paper, and just about whatever else I can find, with notes, bits from stories, quotes, and doodles. I've been carrying around an old library receipt with random quotes written all over it, and just the other day, I took over about half a page of my planner with notes concerning a design layout I had for Cinema Sweetheart! I've been on the lookout for a good notebook for a while now, especially now that summer is coming and I want to have someone to keep all my ramblings and thoughts together.

And....I've chosen a Moleskine. Well, that is, I would LIKE to choose a Moleskine, but...well, they are pretty expensive, and for those of you who do not know, I'm pretty broke. Even so, I've been planning it out: what model I want (the Plain Notebook-- either Large or Pocket--because the I can scribble all over without lines to impede me). As for pens, I'm just going to go for something simple that doesn't bleed through the pages...although, once I have real money, I'd love to get a fountain pen....or better yet: a quill pen! (Yes, I'm a huge nerd :P)

So, wish me luck in finding the funds to get myself one of these little darlings ^_^

Who is Your Literary Crush?

In my last post, I mentioned that Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre is my favorite literary crush (with Brandon from Sense and Sensibility in 2nd, and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice in 3rd). But, how about you? Ladies, do you dream of Darcy or Heathcliff? How about Bingley? Gentlemen? Would it be Elizabeth, or Catherine, or someone else entirely? We're not just focusing on Austen and Bronte here.... I mean anyone from classic literature! Please share! :)

Jane Eyre: The Movie

Soooo.... A group of us went out to see Jane Eyre in theatres...and it.was.AMAZING! I've always thought the book was very good, and the film had a lot to live up to, but it did not disappoint! I'm not going to go into too many details right now, since I've really tired and still have a lot of homework...but, there will be a review on Cinema Sweetheart's Film Reviews within the next few days, so keep an eye out for that ;)

One thing I will say.....I know most girls gush about how they want to marry Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, and I've even gone on about Brandon from Sense and Sensibility, but I have to say that Edward Rochester is by far my favorite fictional crush. I'd forgotten about him for a while (I'm sorry, Edward), but watching the movie reminded me how much I love this guy! And it's purely for the personality, because according to the book and musical (yes, there is a Jane Eyre musical, and it's wonderful!) Edward is not handsome. I hesitate to say ugly, but he's no great looker :P However, this Rochester is gorgeous! I mean, check this out:

But, go check out this film! So good!!!!

Can I vs. May I

I don't know about any of you, but I hate it when people are such sticklers for the difference between "Can I?" and "May I?" For example....

Person 1: Can I go to the bathroom?

Person 2: Well, I certainly hope so; that would be a problem if you couldn't.

Person 1: ...#$&@ you.

It's not that big of a deal! "Can I?" and "May I?" both work! So, in retaliation, I have a couple of comics that I found online... As always, don't forget that you can enlarge the pictures by clicking on them! (They might be too hard to read if you don't).

The Ugly Truth Behind Figures of Speech

Have you ever thought about what figures of speech would actually look like if you took them literally? I happened to find this little tidbit while randomly searching on the Internet for who knows what :P I MIGHT have been on Stumbleupon.com, but I can't even remember now.

Click on the image to enlarge it :) Oh, and I apologize for the language in the last panel...
