Valentine Gifts?

First off, I want to apologise for not writing for a while....I've been very busy with schoolwork, and this past week, I got a nasty bout of the flu that had me out of commission for a couple of days. But, now, I have some semi-good news.....Okay, so I met this amazing guy in one of my classes, and I really like him. We watch movies together, hang out, call or email almost every day. I get the impression that he likes me, too, which is great, but from past experiences, I want to make sure to take things slowly so I don't get hurt over something that never was. Well, here's my question....I want to do a little something for him for Valentine's Day....what would you guys suggest? Nothing over-the-top or anything....I don't want to come on too strong just yet. I just want something sweet and simple. Do you have any suggestions?

  1. I think this is Chess's department.

But so glad to hear you met a Valentine-worthy guy... Should he last, maybe Valentine could be his name over in the Dramatis Personae sidebar.

  2. Steven,

Thank you :) Perhaps I WILL call him Valentine in the sidebar if this whole thing lasts....although, since he's a movie buff, I was actually going to think of a movie character he reminds me of. So far, nothing comes to mind, and Valentine is looking pretty sweet ^_^

  3. i would say NO NO NO in big capital letters. valentines day is so loaded with meaning and expectations. it is, in my opinion, a vile and abhorrent day... that is what i would say, but i'm not publicly going to announce my reasons for that statement. so what i AM saying is good luck with the plan.

  4. I think it would be nice if you were to give him one of those cheesy store bought valentine cards like you give out in elementary school. One with Ninja Turtles, or Superman, or some other superhero. I think most guys would be flattered by the thought, and something that simple couldn't be misinterpreted as you coming on too strong.
If you wanted to be more covert, when you gave him the valentine you could have a stack of other similar valentines in your hand with other people's names on them. Whether or not you really gave them away wouldn't matter.
Good luck! I'm eager to hear more about Mr. Valentine. ;)

  6. why pretend to be giving away other valentine's? i like the grade school idea. by giving one to al your friends, you would be kind of initiating him into your circle of friends which would be kind of nice i suppose.

  7. Hahahaha, Steven, WHAT? How on earth could Valentine's Day possibly be my department?

I like Robby's idea. A superhero Valentine sounds hilarious. Tape a leftover candy cane to it to dilute the Valentineyness even more. :)
